IELTS exams are surrounded by a lot of assumptions and fear however, that is just a case of miscommunication. People believe that it is extremely hard to pass the writing section especially if your English is not very superior which again, is just an assumption.

Task Achievement

This is very essential, whenever you are presented with a task, try to make sure you achieve the goal they ask of you, you can do so by trying to write at least 150 words thereby compiling everything in the task.

Another thing that would benefit you here would be make the purpose of all your letters absolutely clear and making sure you use the appropriate tone and voice in the article as well as maintain it through the same, this could be formal, informal or semi-formal.

Coherence and Cohesion

Remember to make sure that your entire letter makes sense. It should be logical and understandable, check the order that you have written it in and try to stick to the same while separating the content into paragraphs as and when required.

Another very essential thing that needs to be kept in mind here- conjunctions. Use your conjunctions wisely. Connect paragraphs and sentences effortlessly with conjunctions like and, however, therefore, furthermore etc. this is bound to give your letter a nice flow along with keeping it efficient.

Lexical Resource and Vocabulary

For a high band, you need to be able to show the examiner that you have a highly extensive or flexible vocabulary. This basically means that you are able to use phrases and words that might not be that common, efficiently and effectively. This might be hard but practice gets you there. Try your best to be accurate and this is bound to work wonders for your overall marks.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy

Last but not the least, comes the backbone of English, grammar. Sometimes, we tend to let go of or compromise on grammar which is more common than one might think.

You need to show the examiner that you can use your sentences in the most amazing way with different sentences and words in appropriate orders. This also means that you must use commas, capitalisation as well as colons in the most appropriate manners.

Finally, try to use your words accurately and avoid making mistakes in your sentences in order to reach your desired scores.

It might seem hard to get there but believe in yourself and you will reach your goals.
